MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
This month we are spotlighting: Laurie!
Name: Laurie
Message Board Name: Perrywinkle
Hometown: Estes Park, CO.
Occupation: Special Events Coordinator/Freelance writer and photographer.
Family: Husband, two sons, two horses, three dogs, four cats, a guinea pig & a betta.
Hobbies: Writing, photography, listening to music (guess who that might be), the Denver
Broncos, Colorado Crush, riding our Harley in the mountains and going to concerts at Red Rocks.
When did you buy your first computer? Late 1980s - it was an archaic Apple II.
Where is your current computer located? My laptop is on a library table between our family
room & living room. That way my husband thinks he can keep an eye on my visits to Ebay ...
Been a fan how long? Since the early 80s.
First time I heard Steve sing I felt: my heart skip a beat.
Favorite CD: Street Talk (I wore out my first two copies) or
Steve Perry's Greatest Hits.
Have you seen Steve in concert? Yes - at the Paramount Theatre in Denver.
If you could put one song in a time capsule for future generations what
would it be and why? Running Alone. In addition to simply being a beautiful song, the lyrics
are truly thought-provoking and meaningful. The lines "Everyone's a hero if you want to be; Everyone's a
prisoner holding his own key" are words that have guided me through some rough times along the way.
Personal Comments: Steve's music came into my life at a time when I was dealing with serious personal
issues that eventually ended in a nasty divorce. Steve's magnificent voice and heartfelt songs offered me
refuge when the times were roughest. His music helped give me the courage I needed to start over. And now that
life is better than ever before, I continue to listen to Steve's music for the pure pleasure and magic it evokes.
He's got the most fantastic voice I've ever heard and equally magnificent eyes!
Thank you, Laurie!

Steveisms
"I go to bed around midnight to one o'clock
and for some reason around five-thirty or six, that's it. That's all I need. I'm usually up before
the sun. Hmmm. What do I do? I do a lot of things. I shower, whether I need it or not. (laughs)
I shave the seven hairs I have on my face. Usually I go out and meet friends of mine, creative
people who have the same affliction of being early risers. We meet for coffee, talk, whatever.
Then I go on about my day."
