MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
This month we are spotlighting: Lin!
Name: Lin Duren
Hometown: Columbus O-HI-O
Occupation: Recreation facility center manager (like a school principal).
Family: Loving, faithful husband and an almost grown Computer Geek son.
Hobbies: Work and "steveperryfans.com"
When did you buy your first computer? I didn't- our son presented me with a laptop as a gift- he truly loves
his mother- he was "Happy to Give";
I immediately did two things:
1. Created a "Steve Perry" radio station
2. Downloaded "The Essential Journey" to be lulled to sleep by "The Voice"
Where is your current computer located? In the bedroom, of course! so I can drift off to sleep listening to
Steve Perry's voice wafting from the computer speakers
Steve Questions:
Been a fan how long? ... since the first I heard
Faithfully and
Open Arms... and more! when?
First time I heard Steve sing I felt: ... I heard an angel sing; he set the bar much higher for other singers...
such eloquence, such succinct diction... no sloppy English... tone...vibrato...Emotions!...soothing!
Favorite CD: Right now I'm 'stuck' on
Raised On Radio... even my husband loves
Suzanne (Steve Perry
has always been one of his favorite singers, too)... I appreciate Steve's song writing and producing skills, the diversity
of styles... still wonderful sounds.
I, also, am enamored with
Winds of March - vacillating between initial Journey songs and those with more involvement by Steve.
Have you seen Steve in concert? Unfortunately- No, I have been busy working and raising our son; our home is located
between performance cities... so I am praying for just one more performance from "The Voice" so I can be blessed to hear him
in person... please?!
If you could put one song in a time capsule for future generations what would it be and why?
Why Can't This Night Go On Forever: because time slips away: whether it's relationships or life's experiences...take
opportunities and risks. I want to always be with my husband, I see our gorgeous son grow and mature, and there are events
missed- like being there for those arena concerts. I would love to hear Steve Perry- live...one more time, please?! I have
the time and money now....
Personal Comments: Thank you for your site and involvement, "Thanks" to Steve Perry for sharing his talent and God's gift
with the world; here's praying he will release at least one more album, and that he will perform once more- if even on a cable
channel or small venue tour.
I have purchased all of Steve's/Journey's remastered CDs and relish the sounds! Regardless, I (and my husband) will keep on
listening, and "Loving, Touching, Squeezing" until "The Party's Over".
Thank You Lin!

"So I really do miss the audiences, I really do love to perform. I can't sing like that when I'm in my car or
my shower, but put me in front of an audience and they are the ones that take me to the next level. I think that
it's an impossibility for most performers to get that extra mile of what they have to offer until they are put in
that position, so therefore my voice really belongs to them, and I miss that interaction terribly."
