NEWS and INFORMATION

February 1 2010: It's 4 years to the day since we opened our virtual doors at steveperryfans.com, and we'd like to give a shout out to all our visitors and members - we thank you for spending some time with us and sharing our appreciation for Steve Perry's music.

We're considering some changes to the site now that we've got to 4 years old, so look out for announcements!

January 30, 2010: *New Steve Interview*. From "across the pond" in England! The interview is Monday, February 1st at 7pm GMT (2pm EST and 11am PST) by Nicky Horne of "Planet Rock". There is a "listen now" button on the front page of their site - so you should be able to listen to it live. Go here to check out the "listen now" link. And read a short blurb on the interview in their news section. Thanks Cathy!

January 21, 2010: New Steve Message! Yes, Steve has once again checked in at Fan Asylum to leave a Birthday Hello! Thanks Steve and Happy Birthday! (And a "Thank You" out to Fan Asylum as well!)

January 19, 2010: While we have put raising money for a cause in honor of Steve's birthday on hold due to the economy, with the devastating earthquake in Haiti last week and Steve's birthday coming up on Friday we would like to call attention to this very worthy cause once again. Help is desperately needed in Haiti (and many other places in the world) and even $5.00 can aid more than you know. If you can help - please go to our "Helping Hand" page and click on the IFRC link. Thank you!

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

This month we are spotlighting: Sharon Rose!

Name: Sharon Rose
Hometown: Somerville, Mass
Occupation: Disabled.
Family: 1 daughter.
Hobbies: games on pogo, reading, my pets, garden, music.
When did you buy your first computer? 2002.
Where is your current computer located? Living room.

Steve Questions:

Been a fan how long? 25 years.
First time I heard Steve sing I felt: goose bumps!
Favorite CD: Tie between Raised On Radio and Frontiers.
Have you seen Steve in concert? Yes I was lucky enough to see him during the Raised On Radio tour. Was 7 rows from the stage. So close but so far.........
If you could put one song in a time capsule for future generations what would it be and why?
Be good to yourself because it is the truth if you aren't good to yourself how do you expect anyone else to be good to you?
Personal Comments: Steve and Journey were a major part of my life when I was going through a lot of personal troubles. I could just kick back and listen to him sing and for awhile everything was alright. As far as I am concerned Journey is NOT Journey unless you see Steve Perry on that stage. Just ordered the DVD from Amazon with Greatest from 1978 to 1987. Cant wait to see it!

Thank You Sharon Rose! If you would like to take part in our Member Spotlight just e-mail us and we'll send you the questionnaire

Steveisms

"But the point of the song playing is that you just don't give up, life goes on even if you're the Sopranos. It doesn't matter what you do for a living. In the midst of his turbulent life and everything, there's always this sense of family and this sense of dreams and hopes for some kind of normalcy - some kind of don't-give-up, don't-stop-believing feeling. I actually shouted "All right!" at the end. "
