MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

This month we are spotlighting: Melissa!

Name: Melissa

Message Board Name: Rockermel
Hometown: Adrian, Missouri but grew up in Springdale, Arkansas - also lived in Colorado Springs for a short while in 1986.

Occupation: Mom 24/7, PT Self-employed housekeeper, College student.

Family: I am single with 3 sons - Eric (22) who has Down Syndrome. Kasey (15) who lives in Oklahoma with his dad. He just started high school & comes to see us about 3 times a year. Travis (12 ½) who just started junior high & is a helpful brother to Eric :) My mom is a very important part of my life - she is my main support system ;) & lives behind me in our mobile home community ~ just turned 60 & still thinks she's 40. LOL ... very active & an amazing lady. I also have a brother, Danny who turned the big 4-0 on Sept. 10 ~ he has 4 kids - Ross (almost 14), Payton (5 ½), Jesse (turned 3 in December), & Anthony (5 months). I am extremely close to my mom & brother. My dad died in 1987 at the young age of 46 - I think about him everyday & miss him greatly.

Hobbies: My family, friends, music (mainly rock), movies, reading, cats, unicorns, shopping, internet fun, cooking, British culture, writing stories.

When did you buy your first computer? I have never bought one . . . the first one I got was in 2003. I have had 2 or 3 more since then (all used) . . . & this past November, my wonderful mom bought me a brand new Compaq Presario for an early Christmas present :).

Where is your current computer located? My bedroom.

Been a fan how long? 26 years.

First time I heard Steve sing I felt: Happy!! I had never heard a voice like his . . . so unique & heartfelt.

Favorite CD: Escape but I love them all of course.

Have you seen Steve in concert? No :(

If you could put one song in a time capsule for future generations what would it be and why? The obvious choice - Don't Stop Believin' :D This is just a one of a kind song & sends the message that love is always special & don't ever take it for granted. Never stop believing in yourself & the ones you love.Cherish every moment!

Personal Comments: I am very excited to be a part of this community dedicated to the one & only, Steve Perry! I have many memories of Journey & I will treasure their music always. Best wishes . . . Melissa.

Thank you Melissa!

"Life has no guarantees for anyone. You just keep all your doors open and see what happens when you get to that particular door. You just never know. There is so much health and well being that has to play in everything. People may not be healthy or well enough, or just may not want to."

~ Journey Force, Vol. 3 #1, 1988
