Why Can't This Night Go On Forever
We thought it might be interesting to take a look back at what happened in Steve's career during the month of July, so here are a few highlights.
1978: release of Anytime single.
1979: Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' is released as a single and is Journey's first Top 20 hit.
1980: Walks Like A Lady (released in May) peaks at #32 on the Billboard Top 40.
1980: July 3 - Departure goes platinum.
1981: July 1 - release of the Escape album.
1981: July 27 - The Escape Tour opens in Osaka, Japan.
1982: July 2 - The Escape Tour ends at The Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA.
1983: July 23 - After The Fall is released as a single. It will peak at #23 on the Billboard Top 40.
1984: July 7 - Steve solo, and She's Mine is released as a single. It will achieve #21 on the Billboard Top 40.
1984: July 13 - Street Talk is awarded platinum status.
1986: July 12 - Suzanne is on the Billboard Top 40. Its top position will be #17.
1989: July 6 - It's multi-platinum x 3 for Infinity!
1989: July 24 - A massive day for Journey in RIAA certification - Departure goes multi-platinum x 2; Escape
hits multi-platinum x 7; Raised On Radio lands at multi-platinum x 2 and Frontiers goes multi-platinum x 4.
1994: July 19 - Release of the long-awaited For The Love Of Strange Medicine album.
1994: July 30 - You Better Wait is released as a single and will peak at #29 on the Billboard Top 40.
