MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

This month we are spotlighting: Melissa!

Name: Melissa
Hometown: Grand Junction, Colorado
Occupation: Legal clerk
Family: Mike (fiance) and Taylor (our cat)
Hobbies: camping, fishing, traveling and crafts
When did you buy your first computer? 2000
Where is your current computer located? Living Room

Been a fan how long? Since 1980
First time I heard Steve sing I felt: like I had died and gone to heaven
Favorite CD: Steve Perry's Greatest Hits
Have you seen Steve in concert? Yes, Portland Oregon 1983

If you could put one song in a time capsule for future generations what would it be and why?
"Runnin Alone" Because it says so much. It is very inspirational. Its my pick me up song and I feel that everyone who hears it will find the inspiration in the lyrics the same way I did. It might be for different reasons. The song very strongly tells you that you are someone special and somewhere although you might not know it you ARE someone's hero.

Personal Comments: The first time I heard Steve sing it was "Open Arms" and I thought to myself my god what a voice. Steve's voice is so definable and distinct. You know its him as soon as the first note is sung. And his song writing is phenomenal. He has a very unique ability of capturing emotions that very few other songwriters do. I would just love it if Steve would record another solo album. We need his voice back on the radio airwaves. And some more Journey video and concert DVDs would be great also.

Thank You Melissa!

"Life has no guarantees for anyone. You just keep all your doors open and see what happens when you get to that particular door. You just never know. There is so much health and well being that has to play in everything. People may not be healthy or well enough, or just may not want to...God forbid someone becoming tragically ill. You just never know what can happen in life, so the best thing is to keep options (pauses) and just live moment to moment, day to day." ~ Steve Perry Journey Force - Volume 3/Number 1 - 1988
