NEWS and INFORMATION

May 28 2007: A recent Boston Herald report confirmed that Steve Perry has renewed his writing partnership with Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme, Dramagods). The two men, both of Portuguese heritage, previously worked together back in 1992, although sadly we have never heard any of the songs resulting from it. Here's hoping that this time, they will create something that they would both like us to hear.

May 18 2007: Steve Perry was a special guest at the Steve Hoffman Tribute Concert for Lung Cancer Research. The event was held in at the Canal Room, New York City, May 18 2007. In support of fund raising for the Steven Hoffman Fellowship in Molecular Genomics and the Princess Margaret Hospital, Steve donated hand written lyrics to Don't Stop Believin' which raised $16,000 at auction.

May 12 2007: The band Guff is releasing their new album on 6/26/07! Here are the details: Symphony of Voices is Guff but better. It still has their fun-loving spirit, but with a newfound immediacy not heard on earlier releases. While Guff was in the studio, Steve Perry, the legendary lead singer of Journey, walked in to visit a friend. He was so impressed with Guff that he showed up unannounced two days later and asked Guff to cover an unreleased Journey song. Steve not only produced the song I Can See It In Your Eyes but also sang on it. The track has already been played nationwide on Joe Benson’s syndicated Off The Record radio show and additionally on XM Satellite Radio. Go here to read more and pre-order the album. And go here to read Steve's interview with Uncle Joe and his comments on working with Guff!

"I believe there is a certain rate that things happen in people's lives and they can no more excel them than they can slow them down. I know from past experiences that when I try to hurry something up I inevitably make some bad decisions. When I try to stop something because I don't want to deal with it, that too, is a bad decision because it eventually haunts me."
