April 4 2008: "Reunited rockers Extreme have spent the last month or so recording their comeback CD to be
released later this year. The band tracked the record at NRG Studios in LA. I have confirmed one particular visitor
to the studio during the band's time there was former Journey vocalist Steve Perry! Perry formed a bond with Extreme
guitarist Nuno Bettencourt some years ago and the pair have written music together in the past, maintaining their
friendship to this day. A trusted source of mine tells me that Steve Perry was present at "a bunch of the sessions."
I'm also told that Steve was "really enthusiastic about the band reuniting and had a great time hanging with the guys
during the sessions." Furthermore, my source ends with a little more detail, stating that the band felt that Steve's
presence and energy was "inspiring", adding "he looks great." You can see how great in
this picture of Steve with Gary Cherone,
Extreme's singer. - Thanks Pat!

This month we are spotlighting: Heidi!
Name: Heidi Overson
Hometown: Beautiful, rural Coon Valley, Wisconsin. We live on a hobby farm that is nestled in a cosy valley.
Occupation: Freelance Writer and Editor (www.lanewriting.com).
Family: Husband Randy, children Mari (18), Kristen (15), Jacob (8), Hallie (4), and a Brazilian
foreign exchange student, Lais (17). She's here until June!
Hobbies: Writing, reading, photography, hiking, music, and raising a herd of Angora goats and llamas!
When did you buy your first computer? Back in 1997...a desktop. We were behind the times a bit.
I've since graduated to a laptop that I just love.
Where is your current computer located? It sits on a desk in the corner of my bedroom. I really need to get a home office soon!
Been a fan how long? I've been a Steve Perry fan since 1981. I remember going to K-Mart in nearby La Crosse,
WI, and buying
Escape on LP! I tore open the plastic wrap and read every word of the LP sleeve on the way
home, in the back of my parents' car. I played that LP on my turntable at least 5 times a day, astounded by the energy
and range of Steve's voice. Since then, Steve was with me over the years. We had "Open Arms" as our high school Prom's theme song.
First time I heard Steve sing I felt: Amazed. Simply amazed. He not only pumped me up with his faster
song singing, he touched me with the emotion he conveyed in his slower songs.
Favorite CD: I think that would have to be
Frontiers. It's a tough call!
Have you seen Steve in concert? No! I wish I had. I did buy a videotape off of EBay a few years ago, and
it was a compilation of Journey/Steve Perry video hits with live concert footage. That's the closest I got.
If you could put one song in a time capsule for future generations what
would it be and why?
I think it's "When I Think of You" off of the
Trial By Fire CD. I also like "It's Just the Rain" off of
the same CD. Beautiful lyrics and beautiful, heartfelt singing by Steve. I'm thinking of putting a DVD of my
graduating daughter together for her graduation party and for her keepsake. It would be a compilation of pictures
of her throughout her life so far, and I would put the song "When I Think of You" on the DVD, playing while the
pictures are showing on the screen. "Magic moments.....they're the things I will remember........." I cry every
time I hear the song. It's what life is all about, isn't it? Cherishing our magic moments and remembering someone
with tender thoughts and happy memories.
Personal Comments: Steve has no idea, possibly, of how he has touched so many people over the years. He
is not forgotten. We play him daily in our house. Even my children love his voice. He continues to bless us. When
he sings, he bares his soul to countless people, and he needs to know that we are receiving what he freely gave.....still!
Thank you, Heidi!

"Video is another double edged sword, the
world's full of them. A song is like a book and a video is like the movie. The book is almost always better than the
movie because it allows every individual just to think of it in different ways and how it touches them.
"If the video isn't done right it can remove a lot of mystery from it,"
