NEWS and INFORMATION

October 3rd is the big day for the release of the re-mastered Journey and Steve Perry CDs that Steve worked on earlier this year. Order yours from Sony's website. If you have been keeping up on the news, Steve Perry and John Kalodner have taken on the task of remastering all of Journey's and Steve's past catalogue, and these are the titles to be released in October: Departure, Frontiers, Raised On Radio, Trial By Fire, Street Talk, For The Love Of Strange Medicine and Steve Perry's Greatest Hits, all with state-of-the-art remastering and some bonus tracks, especially on the Steve Perry solo CDs!

Speaking of reissues, we have scans of Journey's Greatest Hits reissued souvenir booklet here. Enjoy! We plan to add the rest of the new souvenir booklets to the site in the coming months.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

This month we are spotlighting: Janine!

Name: Janine Ross
Hometown: Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Occupation: Human Resources Coordinator/Accounting Assistant
Family: A wonderful husband of 12 years, an 8 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter and a fuzzy little Schnauzer named Sugar who is 15.
Hobbies: Dancing, playing/listening to music, photography, gardening, bicycling/motorcycling.
When did you buy your first computer? probably 1994 or 1995.
Where is your current computer located? In our dining room where a kitchen table should be...but isn't.

Been a fan how long? Since the late 70's when my friend and I used to listen to Journey and sing along...she even had the walls filled with Journey posters.
First time I heard Steve sing I felt: like he was singing only to me, I could feel every emotion he was feeling at that moment.
Favorite CD: Time3 - it covers EVERYTHING. I like variety in my music
Have you seen Steve in concert? Yes, my husband treated me to his solo Strange Medicine tour when he came to the Brady Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We had front row balcony seats right next to the stage. It was a wrap around balcony and sat very low to the stage...I remember it like it was yesterday. Sometimes I pull out my ticket stub and can't believe it was almost 10 years ago.

If you could put one song in a time capsule for future generations what would it be and why?
Feeling That Way if for no other reason than that it has always been a song that just makes me feel happy when I listen to it. I know that's selfish but it's a great song and I love to share it. My kids love Journey and Steve Perry's music. It's hard for them to grasp that Steve doesn't sing anymore and that Journey tours but he isn't with them. We listen to Steve at home and in the car all the time.

Personal Comments: I don't have any profound words or words of wisdom but I just really respect and admire the talent and generosity that Steve has always shared with his fans. I will forever enjoy listening to his music and never forget the feeling I had watching him live. Hearing his voice, no matter what song he's singing, makes my soul happy. Thank You Steve.

And thank you Janine!

Steveisms

"Yes, a guitarist can be sick with the flu and go out and play. The singer can't go out and buy a new voice or strings. You have the voice you came with and that is all you are going to get. Of course, there are kinds of surgery these days, you will never be the same, though. You are better off keeping what you have, and making sure you have it for a while. That takes discipline and it is frustrating. I enjoy going out partying and drinking with the guys as much as anybody. There are times I just have to go out and have a good time."
