Hello Everyone!

As you all may or may not be aware - 5 years ago we began a humanitarian project while still under the umbrella of the USPFC. This project was in the form of a donation made in Steve's name, on his birthday every year, to VH1 - Save The Music.

It was very successful and we donated over $2300 in those years. When Jan, Gini and I went our separate ways and Jan and I began steveperryfans.com we suspended our humanitarian project for 2006 to give us a chance to get our site up and running with the full understanding we would start it up again in 2007.

Well, it's 2007 and we are ready to start our humanitarian aid once again, however there has been one, large, significant change. We are no longer supporting VH1 - Save The Music but have decided to go global with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Let us explain why - there is one big reason for the change.

Our site is global - we have members all over the world - and in our last donation period we heard from many overseas fans who wanted to donate, and did, however it came to our attention that they were being very generous as the money they donated only helped in the US. This led Jan and I to a discussion on how to resolve this. We looked into a worldwide music fund and while there are several there were problems with each (participation only; do not accept donations from private organizations etc.) and this left us with a challenge: who to help?

Unfortunately we live in a very turbulent time and we have seen, time and again, natural disasters befall a portion of the planet. From New Orleans to Thailand thousands of people need help after Mother Nature shows us her wrath. We also didn't want to become political - some charities are politically motivated and we didn't want to go there - we just want to help people and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies does that.

We felt it was a well-established, non-political, well-organized global humanitarian society. We hope you agree.

Please find the link to their webpage below - we want you to look the site over, read what they have to say and hopefully you will agree that they are a worthy project to follow VH1. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

In our next announcement we will let everyone know what will happen in the next year and how and when you can help.

Thanks Everyone!

Noel and Jan
